About Donna Price
Donna Price, an amazing mother of two boys, has always been an integral part of her boy’s lives and education as she homeschooled them for ten years. Donna has enjoyed 27 wonderful years of marriage to her supportive husband who encouraged her to become certified in the Barton Reading & Spelling System after witnessing the miraculous changes in their youngest son, Jason.
But it was truly Jason who inspired her to help others with Dyslexia, a misunderstood learning challenge. The journey was long, difficult and expensive as they spent years visiting different professionals to search for answers. Working with an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a reading specialist, educational and neuro-developmental psychologists, each of these talented professionals fit a piece of the puzzle together. But there were always unsolved questions as things didn’t improve for Jason. Finally, through a Dyslexia Consultant, Donna discovered the missing link. Jason, a middle schooler at that point, finally had answers. Frustrated and angry that it took years to find the answer, Donna vowed from that point forward that she would do everything possible to assist other families on their own journey.
Today (8/19/24), Jason has graduated from Arizona State University and is working as an Industrial Designer. We are so proud of this amazing young man.
Donna has received extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Research has proven this approach to be effective through techniques that are simultaneously, multi-sensory, explicit, and systematic in nature. She is qualified to screen, consult and tutor.
